ETFO / GECO Year-End BBQ
Teachers from across the county took a break during this busy time of year to celebrate with each other at the Old Victoria Tavern. Despite the scattered rain showers, around 75 ETFO members were treated to welcome gifts, great food, and door prizes. On the barbeque were veggie burgers, hamburgers, and sausages. New this year was an appetizer buffet and an all-important tent that kept party-goers comfortable.
The annual event, hosted by the New Members Committee, was co-sponsored this year by the Greater Essex County Occassional Teacher Local. The mixed crowd included a strong showing by newer members, including many occassional teachers.
Glengarda teachers had the highest turnout (70%) and have earned a year-end pizza party. Plan to challenge them next year by joining us in June, 2009. The exact date is expected to be published on the Events page in the fall of 2008.
