Local Website
August 16, 2005
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of
Ontario today honoured three Greater Essex County teachers
for developing and maintaining the local’s website www.greaterteachers.com
as a valuable resource centre for teachers.
Tom Flemming, Randy Drexler, and Mario Spagnuolo received
the ETFO Local Website of the Year Award at ETFO’s Annual
Meeting in Toronto. The award recognizes outstanding work
done by members who have maintained an ETFO local website
during the school year. Criteria for the award include the
content, quality, general appearance, and frequent updating
of the website.
“The Greater Essex County ETFO Teacher Local website
presents a clear and professional face to the public while
at the same time providing a valuable resource centre for
local teachers. Its usefulness is exemplified by frequent
hits and positive member feedback. The website includes a
user-friendly tool bar, colourful graphics, important links,
and an archive of frequently requested information and forms.
It is updated regularly, keeping the membership informed about
upcoming professional development opportunities, social events,
and political action initiatives,” ETFO President Emily
Noble said.
The Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario represents
65,000 elementary public school teachers and education workers
across Ontario and is the largest teacher union in Canada
outside of Quebec.
